But today Aditya Birla Group’s fashion yarns business, Grasim Industries Limited,is the leading Viscose Filament Yarn (VFY) manufacturer in India and the 3rd largest globally. Within 60 years we have shaped the fashion and textile industry in India for the world to take notice. Other than being trendsetters we are equally conscious with Green Fashion as part of our core values. Being India’s largest VFY exporter we are catering products to nearly 45 countries through two manufacturing units located Veraval, Gujarat and at Shahad, Maharashtra.
When it comes to our viscose filament yarn our marquee textile brand ‘Raysil’ making waves. 100% natural versatile fashion yarn manufactured from premium and imported wood pulp. Our continuous focus on Research and development enables us to cater to the needs of customers and in developing new product variants. And, that is exactly what gives us the edge. Today our premium brand is leading the fashion yarn segment through safe, sustainable and innovation led growth.
The manufacturing unit at Veraval, Gujarat is unique in being the only VFY manufacturing unit to be equipped with all technologies of viscose filament yarn manufacturing i.e. pot spun yarn (PSY), continuous spun yarn (CSY) and the unique proprietary spool spun yarn (SSY) technology. Customers have the flexibility to procure any kind of viscose filament yarn from a single location.
The other manufacturing unit at Shahad, Maharashtra, is equipped with the technologies CSY, PSY and also manufactures Rayon Tyre Yarn, and some chemicals by its backward integration. The combined operations at both units have a capacity of 48,000 TPA.
The Veraval unit is accredited with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 (environment), ISO 45001 (health and safety), SA 8000, REACH compliance and OekoTex certification. The Kalyan unit has ISO 9001, ISO 14001 (environment), OHSAS 18001 (health & safety) and OekoTex certification. Well reckoned in the textile world under the brand name ‘Raysil’, our viscose filament yarn, is a 100% natural versatile fashion yarn manufactured from premium and imported wood pulp. It creates Fashion - elegant, desirable and evergreen and envisages to be a global leader in premium fashion yarn segment through safe, sustainable and innovation led growth.
