We, at Aditya Birla Chemicals, have always ensured that we cater to the worldwide demand for chemicals, with utmost efficiency. Being a leading and responsible chemicals supplier globally, we know that our offerings impact several industries, like construction, fashion, composites, plastics, food, and water.

As the world's leading producer of high-quality chemicals, we started our Sulphites (or Sulfites) range of products in the year 1995, with the installation of our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility at Saraburi, Thailand. Over the past 26 years, our sulphites division has established a global presence across 70 countries, where we sell some of the most widely used intermediates like sodium sulphite, sodium metabisulphite, sodium bisulphite, catalyzed sodium sulphite.

Our products find multiple uses in a variety of applications, where the primary function of the sulphite is the controlled release of sulphur dioxide gas, required in the manufacturing process.

Often, for a layman, Sulphur dioxide has always been considered a pollutant and irritant. However, it is interesting to note that the controlled use of the gas in some form is critical to the production of almost every product that we use in our everyday lives. Sulphites, therefore, are key intermediates to, essentially, all manufacturing processes across the world.

Going ahead, we will discuss one interesting application each week, to underline the ubiquity of this class of chemicals. Stay tuned for more!
