Aryafin

Aryafin is a premium offering from the Aditya Birla Chemicals Chlor-Alkali business, manufactured through the controlled chlorination of carefully selected paraffins with specific chain lengths to ensure consistent quality and performance. Aryafin Chlorinated Paraffins are produced by chlorinating straight-chain paraffinic hydrocarbons derived from petroleum distillation and are categorised based on carbon-chain length—Short Chain (C10–13), Medium Chain (C14–17), and Long Chain (C18–30)—as well as chlorination levels ranging from approximately 35% to less than 70% by weight. This versatility makes Aryafin suitable for a broad range of industrial applications requiring enhanced durability and performance.

Aryafin is widely used as a secondary plasticiser in PVC and synthetic rubber applications, including cables, wires, hoses, pipes, footwear, and other flexible products. It also serves as an extreme pressure additive in metalworking lubricants and is used in textiles, rexine cloth, sealants, mastics, and paints to enhance fire resistance, waterproofing, and protection against water and chemicals.

Applications

PVC Cables & Wires

Secondary plasticiser for PVC resins and as a plasticiser extender in synthetic rubber, chlorinated rubber, nitrocellulose, polystyrene, and PVC cables & wires applications.
Rexines

It is specially used in the manufacture of rexine cloth and textile treatment applications, particularly for fire-retardant finishing and waterproofing of natural fabrics.
Oil / Lubricants

Extreme pressure additive in metalworking oils and lubricants to enhance performance and efficiency in metal processing applications. 
Paints

Used in the manufacture of sealants, mastics, fireproof paints, and emulsion paints to enhance resistance against water and chemicals.
