Epoxy Division at Wind Power Asia 2006
The epoxy
division of Aditya Birla Chemicals (Thailand) Ltd is participating
in the prestigious Wind Power Asia exhibition at the China World
Trade Centre, Beijing, China. The event will be on between June
28 and June 30, 2006.
This is the third instalment of the exhibition,
Asia's leading trade fair for wind
energy technology. Wind Power Asia has now become an annual
showcase and is held in the last week of June in China. More
than 110 exhibitors will display technologies at Wind Power
Asia 2006, over a total space of nearly 10,000 square metres.
Earlier known as Thai Epoxy and Allied Products
Co. Ltd., the Epoxy Division of Aditya Birla Chemicals is
a pioneer manufacturer of epoxy resins in the ASEAN region.
It offers a wide range of epoxies, modifiers and hardeners,
all of which are marketed under the Epotec brand name. Apart
from windmills, the products find applications in airplanes,
satellites, sporting goods and bridges. The Epoxy Division
will be displaying Resin Infusion and Hand Lay up Systems
and Expandable Epoxy, Adhesive and Tooling Systems at Wind
Power Asia 2006.
Epotec epoxy resins are approved by Germanischer
Lloyd, a globally operating technical monitoring group in
the forefront of testing, researching and continual improvement
of safety-relevant factors.
Resin Infusion and Hand Lay Up Systems
Resin Infusion and Hand Lay up Systems have
excellent wetting property with reinforcements. They have extremely
low shrinkage and are resistant to most chemicals. Capable of
giving good performance at extremely low to high temperature,
they are compatible with pigments and internal releasers.
These systems are suitable for the manufacture
of high performance fibre composite elements. They can be
used for laminations in combination with different reinforcements
and honeycombs to make a high-strength light-weight structural
components for windmills, sporting goods, applications in
marine, aeronautics and automobile industries, electrical
insulation, tools and fixtures.
Expandable Epoxy, Adhesive and Tooling
Systems
The other product line being exhibited, Expandable
Epoxy, Adhesive and Tooling Systems, provide excellent adhesion
with most surfaces. They can be processed at ambient temperature
and possess low water absorption properties. Apart from providing
good thermal resistance, these systems have excellent dimensional
stability at elevated temperature. They also have very good
mechanical properties, particularly when suitably reinforced.
The systems are suitable for combining
light weight structures with high mechanical properties for
sporting goods, insulation, moulds and tools. The precise
composite tools can be made in most complex shapes quickly
and easily. These tools offer low thermal expansion and provide
excellent strength to weight ratio.
| Wind Power Asia
2006 is supported by the Global Wind Energy Council
(GWEC). A special summit planned during the simultaneous
conference will focus on the development of the
wind energy sector in Asia. Among the products on
exhibition will be large wind turbines, grid connections
and accessories. Solutions for brakes, blades, and
lubricants will also be on display. |
