Aditya Birla Chemicals,
the Rs 2560 crore chemicals business of the Aditya Birla
Group, is based in India, Thailand and China. The range
of products includes chlor-alkali, epoxy, fluorine chemicals,
peroxides, phosphates, sulphites and phosphoric acid.
These chemicals find application across a wide range of
industries like food, textiles, electrical and electronics,
composites, leather, plastics and automobiles.
They are exported to 58 countries across the globe.
The products are manufactured at ten
units — four in India, five in Thailand and one in China.
The chemicals produced at these factories are recognised
the world over for their high quality.
The chlor-alkali unit in Thailand, for example, is the
only unit in the country to achieve the hallmark of quality
excellence by obtaining FDA approval. State-of-the-art
technology, stringent quality control and continuous innovative
improvements guarantee that the products are of global
standards.
Customer satisfaction is ensured through timely delivery
and customisation of processes according to requirements.
The research and development facilities at the divisions
have the latest equipment to determine the physical and
chemical parameters of newly-developed products and their
applications. Different divisions have been accredited
with certifications like ISO-9001:2000, ISO-14001, OSHAS-18001,
BS-8800 and TIS-18001.
Aditya Birla Chemicals has numerous awards
to its credit. These include the coveted TPM Excellence
Award-First category award, from the Japanese Institute
of Plant Maintenance (JIPM) for the phosphates and sulphites
divisions. In fact, the phosphates unit is the first
sodium phosphate manufacturer in the world to have earned
the award.
